Protecting Lives, Restoring Stability, Enabling Progress
Security is not a background condition for development — it is a precondition for it. Farmers cannot work land they cannot safely reach. Businesses cannot grow in communities under threat. The Tinubu Administration has treated security as a central reform priority, with a sustained and coordinated operational response across every region of the country.
Major operational gains across all theatres. Between May 2023 and December 2025, security forces neutralised over 13,500 terrorists and criminal actors, rescued 9,821 hostages, arrested 17,469 suspects, and recovered 11,118 weapons.
Military capability modernised. The administration has invested in the equipment and training the armed forces need to operate effectively. Acquisitions include 24 Italian-built M-346FA fighter jets under a €1.2 billion contract, 10 AW-109 Trekker multipurpose helicopters, and 12 AH-1 attack helicopters.
Community-centred policing being built. The administration has driven a constitutional process to establish state police — bringing law enforcement closer to the communities it serves. Bill HB-617 has passed its second reading in the House of Representatives.
Security enabling economic recovery. Restored stability in the North-East has allowed internally displaced persons to return to their communities and farmland. The suppression of oil theft in the Niger Delta has been a direct factor in the recovery of crude production.
